Well, those two types of printing are the most popularly used today because of their versatility, but they are different methods that has their own advantages and disadvantages. If you are about to open your own boutique line selling your own personalized print fabric and cloths, you need to know about this information. Choosing between DTG or Screen Print Comparison
Between these two different printing methods, DTG; or direct to garment printing is slightly more popular because it is considered to be a more economical between the two. For some types of fabrics; you can order your print cloths in large batch with many print fabric services cheaper. But, with the advancement of technology, screen print is becoming a lot more modern; it offers a lot more things and features. For example, it can be used on Teflon, nylon, polyester and many more kinds of fabric, while DTG is very limited on lighter garments like cotton.
Depending on the location of where you want to print your illustration on your design print fabric, one has more advantage over the other. While using DTG is also applicable, it is not as versatile as the screen print method, as it allow you to print your illustration anywhere, it does not matter how big the size of the fabric is.
Although it can be used to print your illustration anywhere, it can be a problem if you are printing in a darker colored garment. Using screen printing in dark colored garment often resulted in a little bit rubbery result. Thus, if you plan to print your illustration on darker colored garment, it is preferable to use DTG. In terms of color, there is no competition; you can use a lot more colors using the screen print compared to the DTG; although limited because the result looks better if you are using lighter colored fabric.
But what makes the DTG so popular is its speed, compared to the screen printing; you can get the job done significantly faster. So if you are planning to order a large batch of custom print fabric, choosing the DTG method is preferable. Unfortunately, it is pretty expensive if you are looking for a small batch of product, in which we recommend you to choose screen printing if you only want 10 pieces of cloths or so.

One is by simply using the iron on top of the freezer paper that has already got the image in order to print that said image on top of the shirt. If you still find the image on the available product unsatisfying, you can buy plain freezer paper and design your own image and print it to the freezer paper.
